Tauck has announced the ms\u00a0Harmonie, the newest riverboat joining its fleet in France and a sister ship to the ms\u00a0Lumi\u00e8re\u00a0on the Rh\u00f4ne. Shaped in part by feedback from Tauck\u2019s river cruising guests, the new vessel carries forward the design of the ms\u00a0Lumi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n
Tauck CEO Jennifer Tombaugh said that: \u00a0\u201cRiver cruising continues to be one of the most popular ways guests first experience Tauck, and the feedback our river guests have shared over the years shapes every ship we build. The name\u00a0Harmonie, which carries the same meaning in French and English, speaks to what we hope guests feel on board and along the river: a sense of balance, ease and connection to the places we explore.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ms Harmonie is custom-built for cruising the Rh\u00f4ne and shares the deck plan and signature spaces of the ms\u00a0Lumi\u00e8re, accommodating no more than 130 guests, up to 30% fewer than comparably sized riverboats.<\/p>\n
The ship\u2019s Sun Deck features a swimming pool, full-service bar and shaded day beds for open-air dining and afternoons on the river. On the upper Diamond Deck, an expanded wellness area called The Retreat offers a fitness center, massage treatment room and lounge framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. Arthur\u2019s, the ship\u2019s casual dining venue, serves panoramic views of the passing landscape, while sky-lit atriums, spacious 300-square-foot Tauck Suites and light-filled lounges carry through the design elements guests have embraced aboard the ms\u00a0Lumi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n
The ms Harmonie is part of Tauck\u2019s multi-phase investment in its river fleet that broadens where and how guests can cruise.<\/p>\n
Between 2026 and 2028, Tauck is introducing five new riverboats: the ms\u00a0Lumi\u00e8re\u00a0and ms\u00a0Serene, which debuted in 2026; the ms\u00a0Reverie\u00a0and ms\u00a0Saudade, arriving in 2027; and the ms\u00a0Harmonie\u00a0in 2028.<\/p>\n
The program adds new capacity while\u00a0retiring two older vessels. The renewal extends beyond new ships. By 2028, Tauck\u2019s river cruising capacity will grow by more than 50%, supported by a broader portfolio of shoulder-season departures, a new six-day cruise format for guests with less time and additional destinations.<\/p>\n
The Rh\u00f4ne has become one of Tauck\u2019s most in-demand river destinations, pacing nearly 30% ahead of 2025 even before the current expansion began. Sailing alongside the ms\u00a0Lumi\u00e8re, the ms\u00a0Harmonie\u00a0will double Tauck\u2019s capacity on the river, carrying guests on best-selling itineraries such as\u00a0Savoring France: Paris, Lyon & Provence, with new itineraries to follow in 2028.<\/p>\n
Guests are now able to reserve space on the 2028 itinerary and departure date of their choosing, risk- free. All guests who reserve 2028 cruises now will have the opportunity to cancel and receive a full refund of their deposits when pricing and final itinerary details are announced later this fall.<\/p>\n
