{"id":210837,"date":"2026-08-06T06:30:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T10:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.travelpress.com\/?p=210837"},"modified":"2026-08-06T08:01:03","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T12:01:03","slug":"tiao-warns-of-unauthorized-ontario-tourism-summit-emails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.travelpress.com\/tiao-warns-of-unauthorized-ontario-tourism-summit-emails\/","title":{"rendered":"TIAO warns of unauthorized Ontario Tourism Summit emails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-210838\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/TIAO-Tourism-Summit-Image-1024x768-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.travelpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/TIAO-Tourism-Summit-Image-1024x768-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.travelpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/TIAO-Tourism-Summit-Image-1024x768-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.travelpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/TIAO-Tourism-Summit-Image-1024x768-1-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) is thanking its members and partners who have alerted it to the fact that \u201csuspicious emails\u201d regarding the upcoming Ontario Tourism Summit.<\/p>\n<p>TIAO said that it has \u201creceived reports of unsolicited emails offering to sell or provide an Ontario Tourism Summit 2026 Registrants\/Attendees List.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And it states: \u201cPlease be advised that these messages are\u00a0fraudulent and are not affiliated with the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario or the Ontario Tourism Summit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It continued: \u201cTIAO does not sell, distribute or authorize third parties to sell Ontario Tourism Summit attendee or registrant information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And the association advised that \u201cif\u00a0 you receive one of these messages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not reply to the sender<\/li>\n<li>Do not click any links or open attachments<\/li>\n<li>Do not provide payment, personal or organizational information<\/li>\n<li>Mark the message as spam or phishing and delete it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And the association makes it clear that Official Ontario Tourism Summit communications will come directly from TIAO through our recognized communication channels and email addresses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are actively monitoring the situation and appreciate everyone who has brought these messages to our attention.
